SEAL - KIss FROm A ROsE

"Kiss From A Rose"
There used to be a graying tower alone on the sea.You became the light on the dark side of me.Love remained a drug that's the high and not the pill. But did you know,That when it snows,My eyes become large andThe light that you shine can be seen.Baby,I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray.Ooh,The more I get of you,The stranger it feels, yeah. And now that your rose is in bloom.A light hits the gloom on the gray. There is so much a man can tell you,So much he can say.You remain,My power, my pleasure, my pain, babyTo me you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny.Won't you tell me is that healthy, baby? But did you know,That when it snows,My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen.Baby,I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray.Ooh, the more I get of youThe stranger it feels, yeahNow that your rose is in bloom.A light hits the gloom on the gray,I've been kissed by a rose on the gray,I've been kissed by a roseI've been kissed by a rose on the gray,...And if I should fall along the wayI've been kissed by a rose...been kissed by a rose on the gray. There is so much a man can tell you,So much he can say.You remainMy power, my pleasure, my pain.To me you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny, yeahWon't you tell me is that healthy, baby. But did you know,That when it snows,My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen.Baby,I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray.Ooh, the more I get of youThe stranger it feels, yeahNow that your rose is in bloom,A light hits the gloom on the gray.Yes I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grayOoh, the more I get of youThe stranger it feels, yeahAnd now that your rose is in bloomA light hits the gloom on the grayNow that your rose is in bloom,A light hits the gloom on the gray.

Got no place to go But there's a girl waiting for me down in Mexico She got a bottle of tequila, a bottle of gin And if I bring a little music I could fit right inWe got airplane rides We got California drowning out the window side We've got big black cars And we got stories how we slept with all the Movie stars I may take a holiday in Spain Leave my wings behind me Drink my worries down the drain And fly away to somewhere new Hop on my choo-choo I'll be your engine driver in a bunny suit If you dress me up in pink and white We may be just a little fuzzy 'bout it later tonightShe's my angel She's a little better than the one that used to be with me Cause she liked to scream at me Man, it's a miracle that she's not living up in a treeI may take a holiday in Spain Leave my wings behind me Drive this little girl insane And fly away to someone new Everybody's gone They left the television screaming that the radio's on Someone stole my shoes But there's a couple of bananas And a bottle of booze Oh well, happy new year's baby! NOthinG lasTS Forever by SidenY Sheldon

Nothing Lasts Forever is a 1994 novel by Sidney Sheldon.
This medical thriller tells the story of three female doctors trying to prove themselves in a profession dominated by men. Each of them has their own story, and each of their tales are well connected and intertwined with each other. But suddenly there is chaos, one dies, another is about to get the hospital shut down, and the third faces the death penalty for murder. The novel follows a twisty plot with a typical Sheldon surprise ending.
COUNTings CROWs - The RAIN KInG

StePHen KinG - The DEAd Zone

Much of the book plays against the historical backdrop of the 1970s. It has been suggested that the story might be based on self-proclaimed "psychic" Peter Hurkos, who received a head injury in a fall from a ladder, and afterward claimed to be able to know things about people by touching objects that belonged to them, psychometry.
The Dead Zone was nominated for the Locus Award in 1980
Plot summary
The prologue relates two unconnected episodes in the lives of the principal and subsidiary characters. In January 1953 in Maine, a young boy named Johnny Smith is knocked out cold while ice-skating. As he regains consciousness, he is helped to his feet by Chuck Spier, an older boy, to whom he mumbles, "Don't jump it no more." Chuck pays no mind to this, but a few months later, he is seriously injured when a car battery he's trying to jumpstart explodes. Johnny forgets this incident as time goes on. Two years later, a young Bible salesman named Greg Stillson, suffering emotional issues, kicks an aggressive dog to death outside of a farm in Iowa. As he drives away, he dreams about greater things in his life. The story properly begins in 1970. Johnny is now a high school teacher, and dating a fellow teacher named Sarah Bracknell. A few days before Halloween, Johnny takes Sarah to a county fair, but Sarah gets ill from eating a tainted hot dog. As they leave, Johnny decides to try his luck at a Wheel of Fortune stand. A small crowd gathers around Johnny as he keeps winning. After winning a substantial amount of prize money, Johnny takes Sarah home, and decides to take a taxicab home. As he heads back to his home, the taxicab is hit by two cars that are drag racing. The cab driver is killed in the crash, and Johnny is sent flying through the windshield and into a pond by the side of the road. Johnny then blacks out. A short while later, Johnny's parents, Herb and Vera, receive a phone call from the hospital, and they are informed that Johnny has gone into

Wendall Rohr and a legal team have filed suit on behalf of plaintiff Celeste Wood, whose husband died from lung cancer. The trial is to be held in Biloxi, Mississippi, a state thought to have favourable tort laws and sympathetic juries. The defendant is tobacco company Pynex, part of the 'Big Four'. Durwood Cable is lead lawyer for the defense and assigns case management to Rankin Fitch, a ruthless lawyer and jury consultant who has helped to "win" cases like this.
Even before the jury have been sworn, one of them, Nicholas Easter, has begun to quietly conive behind the scenes, in concert with a mysterious woman known only as Marlee.
Fitch has placed a camera in the courtroom, feeding to his office nearby so that the trial can be observed. As the case continues, Fitch is approached by Marlee with a proposal to 'buy' the verdict. In default, she threatenes to 'bump' several jurors. He refuses to pay and several jurors are lost. Easter still quietly works on the jury. As the jury and their attitudes change, the result is no longer predictable.
Easter becomes jury foreman and convinces them to find for the plaintiff and make a large monetary award - two million dollars for compensatory damages, and four hundred million dollars for punitive measures. The defense lawyers and their employers are devastated.
A while after the trial, Marlee contacts Fitch and explains why she engineered the verdict. It emerges that her parents died of smoking-related diseases and she wanted to make sure justice was done. She has also speculated with the bribe money and caused a major fall in tobacco shares. She returns the original money.
Whilst Easter and Marlee are now rich and satisfied that they served justice, Fitch realises that his reputation is gone and that the tobacco companies, once undefeatable, are now vulnerable to lawsuits.

In 1991 the band established their own label, Toff Records, and released the archival release The Rest of Pendragon, a collection of EP tracks, and the studio album The World, in which they returned to a more progressive style that the band would continue to develop over their next three studio albums, The Window of Life, The Masquerade Overture, and Not of This World.
From this point on their fortunes have improved, and whilst they are still relatively obscure in their home country they have a significant following in Europe; in particular, they have managed to develop a strong fanbase in Poland, and have both released at least one compilation specifically for the Polish market and recorded several live albums there.
In 2002 the band released Acoustically Challenged, documenting an "unplugged" session with a number of the band's songs retooled for acoustic instruments, which was originally broadcast on Radio 3 Warsaw. This was considered an unusual move for a prog rock band, since progressive rock tends to focus a lot on the use of electronic synthesisers and electric guitars; however, the melodic qualities of the band's compositions proved to be well-suited to an acoustic context, and the album was reasonably successful. This heralded a new willingness to experiment on the part of the band, following a run of studio albums all broadly in the same vein as "The World". On 2005's Believe they took their music in a somewhat darker direction, causing a certain amount of controversy amongst their fans. 2008's Pure refined the style of Believe and was extremely well received by the progressive rock fandom; on the community website progarchives.com Pure enjoyed the current "most popular album" spot for a period in 2008, and remains in the site's top 10 prog releases of 2008 (as voted by site users).
Recently, Pendragon released a live album and DVD, Concerto Maximo, shot in Katowice, on October 13th, 2008. It was filmed and edited by Metal Mind. It was released in several versions - a 2 CD release, featuring just the audio from the show, a DVD, featuring the full show, and a DVD and 2 CD special edition, which was limited to 1000 copies.

Founded in 1969 by guitarist Frank Bornemann, the band has endured several line-up changes, with Bornemann being the only consistent member of the group. In the 1980s, after a series of major splits in the group, Bornemann pursued a more commercial direction. Despite attracting a large following in Germany, the band never gained popularity in the United States. However, in later years, former members of the band re-joined, and in 1998 released the album Ocean 2, a return to the classic symphonic progressive rock genre for which the band was well known.
Bornemann described the origin of the name of the band thus: "The name Eloy is based on the book 'The Time Machine' by H.G. Wells. Wells describes in his book the situation of mankind about 800,000 years later, and 'Eloy' is a human race in his story. The Eloy in Wells' story have made a new start with the help of the time traveler. In a way, it was a new beginning for the human race. German rock bands in the late '60s played mainly covers from other bands instead of playing their own compositions. Record deals for German bands were absolutely rare and German bands generally were considered to be second class bands in their own country. At that time it was a strong effort for a German band to come out with only their own compositions. It was a start into an unknown future, and from this point of view, comparable to the human race in Wells' story. That is why I got the idea to name the band 'Eloy'."[1]
In August 2009, it was announced that Eloy would be reforming for a new album. "The strong feedback from all parts of the world, which has been around for many years, eventually reached the musicians themselves. And so Frank Bornemann, lead singer, guitarist and producer of Eloy, has brought the band together again for a 40th anniversary reunion. After a break of eleven years, they have launched a new album which recaptures the spirit of the early years. The album carries the title 'Visionary' and will be available in shops at the end of 2009.
Furthermore, Eloy fans are awaiting, with the arrival of 'The Legacy Box', a comprehensive retrospective in the form of a double DVD. The first ever official Eloy DVD contains numerous videos and TV recordins from all the band's periods, as well as a comprehensive documentary of the band's history with interviews, a photo gallery and many further features. 'The Legacy Box' will be available in Spring 2010."

Successful English learners - what English did for them
English makes you feel good
English in international business — examples
Learning to speak English well may be the best thing you can do to improve your life.
That's right. Do you think it would be fun to have access to information that other people can't get? Talk and write letters to interesting people that others can't communicate with? Impress people around you whenever you opened your mouth? Make big jumps in your career, leaving others miles behind?
You can get all this if you speak English well.
Get access to knowledge
What are you interested in? Is it science? Music? Computers? Health? Business? Sports? Today's media — such as the Internet, television, and the press — give you almost unlimited access to knowledge about your favorite subjects. After all, we live in the information age, don't we?
There's only one problem. Most of this knowledge is in English.
Here are some examples of knowledge you can use if you know English:
Most pages on the Web. That's over a billion (1,000,000,000) pages of information! It's amazing that learning just one language gives you access to almost all knowledge on the Internet.
Books — on any subject, from all over the world. Read books by British or American authors, and books translated from other languages. Whatever you're interested in, you can read about it in English!
The press. Only English-language magazines and newspapers can be bought in every part of the world. You don't have to search for Time, Newsweek, or the International Herald Tribune!
Science. English is the key to the world of science. In 1997, 95% of the articles in the Science Citation Index were written in English. Only about 50% of them were from English-speaking countries like the USA or Britain. (source)
News reports. Watch international television networks, such as CNN International and NBC. They broadcast news much faster, and more professionally, than smaller, national networks. And you can watch them everywhere in the world.
Communicate with people
We like to call English "the language of communication". Why? Because it seems all the people in the world have agreed to use English to talk to each other.
About 1,500,000,000 people in the world speak English. Another 1,000,000,000 are learning it. (source)
75% of the world's letters and postcards are written in English. (source)
Almost all international conferences and competitions are conducted in English. For example, the Olympics and the Miss World contest.
Diplomats and politicians from different countries use English to communicate with each other. English is the main language of organizations like the United Nations, NATO, and the European Free Trade Association.
If you can communicate in English, you can:
Contact people from all over the world. Talk about your ideas and opinions on Internet discussion groups. Send e-mail to interesting people. Learn about their life and culture.
Travel more easily. Communicate with people wherever you go — English is spoken in more than 100 countries (source). Ask directions, have a conversation, or... ask for help. Who knows, maybe English will save your life someday!
Push your career forward
If you want a good job in business, technology, or science, get out of that armchair and start learning English now! (If you already have a good job, start learning before you lose it!)
Knowing English will let you:
Put "excellent knowledge of English" on your CV. Get your dream job, and earn more money.
Gain technical knowledge. English is the language of technology, especially high technology like computer science, genetics, and medicine. If you're going to read about technology, you'll probably have to do it in English.
Learn computer science. Read technical articles without difficulty. Or write your own articles!
Be a world-class businessman (or -woman). It's simple. International business is done in English. And all business today is international. So if you want to play, you have to know English — to contact other businesspeople, go to conferences, read international business newspapers and magazines, etc.
Become a better scientist. Contact scientists from other countries, go to international conferences, visit academic centers abroad. Learn about new scientific discoveries by reading papers, books, and magazines.
Use your computer more effectively. Most computer applications are in English, so you will understand them better — and become a better employee.
Learn new skills for your job. The section "Get access to knowledge" explains how English helps you learn.
Enjoy art like never before
English lets you feel the culture of the world like no other language. With a good knowledge of the English language, you can do wonderful things:
Watch American and British films in the original. Once you try it, you'll never go back to dubbed versions!
Read great books. Every famous book was written in English or it was translated into English. There is an amazing number of titles — from classic plays like Hamlet to modern thrillers like Jurassic Park.
Enjoy English-language music more. Believe us: music is much better if you can understand the words.
English is easy to learn
English is not only the most useful language in the world. It is also one of the easiest languages to learn and to use:
Simple alphabet — no special symbols such as é or ä. Type in sweet, part, film on your computer. Now try süß (German), (Polish), (Russian). Which is easier?
Easy plurals — simply add s to a word. One car, five cars; one telephone, two telephones... There are very few exceptions.
Words are easy to learn. In French, it's la fille and le chien. In German, it's das Mädchen and der Hund. In English, they're just a girl and a dog. And that's all you need to know.
Short words. Most of the basic words are short: run, work, big, go, man. Long words are often shortened: sitcom = situational comedy, fridge = refrigerator, OS = operating system. Speaking English saves you time. :-)
Words don't change. But in many languages, one word has many forms:
English: The man is blind.German: Der Mann ist blind.
English: This is a blind man.German: Das ist ein blinder Mann.
English: I see a blind man.German: Ich sehe einen blinden Mann.
Call everybody "you". You can say "Do you speak English?" to your friend or to your teacher. In other languages, you have to use the right word for the right person. In English, everybody is equal. :-)
English is everywhere. You can easily access English-language television, music, websites, magazines, etc. You don't have to learn from boring textbooks. You can learn and use your English at the same time. Using your English is especially important because it increases your desire to learn.
Get satisfaction
English is not only useful — it gives you a lot of satisfaction:
Making progress feels great. We'll never forget the moment we discovered we could speak with Americans or watch TV in English.
You will enjoy learning English, if you remember that every hour you spend gets you closer to perfection.
Using English is fun, too, because every sentence you speak or write reminds you of your success

Now pronounce the sound you make when you say “aw”, as in “AW, come on”. Pronounce the final sound of “too”. For this vowel, the lips are rounded and the back of the tongue is raised to a place near the velum, leaving a little space for the air to flow.
As the back of the tongue is lowered from the / u: / position, it reaches in turn the positions for the three other back vowels = / U / as in pull, / o / as in note, and / O / as in law. And at each of these three positions the rounding of the lips is successively opened, as you can observe in the mirror. The four back vowels, from top to bottom, are illustrated by this series:
fool = / u: /, full = / U /, foal = / o /, fall = / O /
CENTRAL VOWELS
English has three central vowels if you pronounce “fur”, “sir”, “her”, you are uttering, as the final sound, a mid-central r-colored vowels , / «r /.
The second central vowel may be illustrated by the first sound of “up”. It is heard as the pronunciation of the underlined vowels in the following words.
Stressed: / ¿ / sun, done, flood.
Unstressed: / « / sofa, alone, about, around, garbage.
The / « / is a vowel of high frequency in English, especially in unstressed syllables, and is technically called “schwa”.
The third central vowel is the sound you make when the doctor says, “Open your mouth and say a-a-a”. For most Americans this is the vowel of “father”. It’s symbolized by this series.
nurse = / «r /, nut = / ¿ /, not = / a /.
